BIMTech Media Digitalises UCEN BIM Course Developed in Collaboration with BIMTech Engineering
In a significant advancement for BIMTech’s relationship with UCEN College, BIMTech Media has successfully digitalised a Building Information Modeling (BIM) course originally developed by BIMTech Engineering in partnership with UCEN (University Centre of Excellence in Networking). This initiative represents a major leap towards making cutting-edge BIM education more accessible and engaging for students and professionals alike.
Last year, BIMTech Engineering and UCEN collaborated to create an innovative BIM course designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to excel in the modern digital engineering landscape. The course was structured to provide comprehensive insights into BIM technologies, methodologies, software’s and practical applications, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to meet industry demands. The course culminated with the opportunity for students to walk away with a drone pilot licence.
Matt McGuire, Director of BIMTech Engineering, highlighted the importance of the course, saying, “Our collaboration with UCEN aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. The BIM course we developed is detailed and reflective of the real-world challenges digital engineers face today.”
Recognising the potential to expand the course’s reach and impact, BIMTech Media took on the task of digitalising the BIM part of the course. The digitalisation process involved converting the traditional classroom-based course into an interactive, online learning experience that retains the rigor and depth of the original material while offering the flexibility and accessibility of modern e-learning platforms.
- Structured learning: The course is divided into several sections, each featuring online learning assets, video lectures, motion graphics, and quizzes. This format allows students to engage with the material in a more immersive and hands-on manner.
- Flexible Learning: By transitioning to using SCORM files hosted on Moodle, the course offers greater flexibility, enabling students to learn at their own pace and on their own schedule.
- Expert Instruction: The digital course includes video lectures from BIMTech Engineering’s director, ensuring that learners receive high-quality instruction and real-world insights.
- Practical Applications: The course emphasises practical applications of BIM, providing students with opportunities to experience real-life projects and case studies. This approach helps bridge the gap between theory and practice, preparing students for the challenges of the workplace.
- Accessible Resources: In addition to the core content, the digital platform offers a wealth of supplementary resources. The course is also fully captioned.
BIMTech Media previously developed BIMTech Engineering’s cutting-edge MEP Theory training program. This interactive e-learning program has bridged the gap between on-site and off-site knowledge, leading to better BIM practices and modelling techniques.
BIMTech Media offer this service to companies wanting to introduce interactive e-learning, move existing content to the digital space or need small explainer videos to enhance health and safety, company updates or site induction.
